5 Inspired Celebrations

Now that summer is coming to an end, it’s the perfect time to throw a party to celebrate the final days of summer. From an all-white party to a backyard garden soiree, try stick with one of these chic themes for your source of inspiration.

 1. Little Italy

Live like an Italian with your own handcrafted homemade pizza. Stick with red, white and green décor and string lights diagonally above tables for a glowing effect, whether indoors or outdoors.

2. Rainy Day Affair

A dinner party is the perfect solution for less than ideal summer weather. Light some candles and dim your lighting for a cozy ambiance. Serve simple appetizers like sandwiches and fondue to keep the conversation flowing.

3. Final Days of Summer

Throw a white party while you can still wear white before Labor Day. Try to stick with a monochromatic color scheme and serve outfit-friendly food such as bowtie pasta salad and cucumber sandwiches.

4. Sommelier Soirée

Bring the vineyard home with an assortment of different celebrity wines, paired with an assortment of cheese and crackers. Décor can be amped up a notch with fresh flowers on every table.

5. Botanical Brunch

Arrange vintage tables around your backyard with lanterns and candles for the garden party décor. Serve plenty of veggies for appetizers and entrees to stick with the earthy organic theme.

Fresh Makeup for Fall

makeup, beauty

Now that spring is upon us, it’s a great time to refresh your look for the warm days ahead! Since darker gem tones like emerald, sapphire and ruby were favored in the fall and winter, giving yourself a beauty makeover starts with utilizing pastel shades like lavender, peach and pink. Light shades are wonderfully effortless, and are flattering on virtually any complexion!

The first step to making your features absolutely radiant is selecting the appropriate foundation, blush and highlighter. Clinique’s Superbalanced Foundation is an exceptional line to try, due to its high caliber makeup and great array of shades. When you find the right shade of foundation, spread a small dollop onto your entire face. Next, apply blush on the apples of your cheeks to add a feminine pop of color. Nars Blush in “Orgasm” is a fabulous blend of peach and pink that complements all skin tones. Lastly, blend a superb highlighter under your eyes and in the t-zone of your face to gently contour your lovely features.

In addition to luminous skin, pretty eyes are a requirement for this simple look. Clinique’s All About Shadow Quad in Pink Chocolate has four different eyeshadows in varying shades of pink and brown, allowing you to incorporate more light shades for day and thus darker hues for the evening. Gently apply the lightest pink to the whole eyelid, then cover just your eyelid with the tan shade. Blend the darker pink shadow in your eyelid crease, and use the chocolate brown shadow in the outer corners of your eyes.

The key element to your beauty look is enhancing your lips while at the same time evading darker gem tones. A remarkable lipstick that looks good on everyone is Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup. This soft pink will greatly harmonize with the rest of your makeup.

At last, keeping your hair as natural as possible will enhance the nonchalance of this routine. For beautiful tresses, apply a smoothing product and let your hair air-dry, so it can take on its natural shape. Now that you know how to succeed in creating a pretty spring look, you can plan a lunch with friends to show it off!

Tennis Luxury

I love fashion, and tennis is no exception. When I played varsity tennis in high school and club tennis at college, dressing up was definitely half the fun! Now that I’ve graduated, I still love to play whenever I get a chance. These are some of my dream pieces for a perfect transition from summer to fall, incorporating darker gem tones like navy and maroon with some brighter yellows and whites.

Memorial Day Chic

I chose some of my all-time favorite designers for my Memorial Day outfit inspiration. I absolutely love this trending electric blue color, so I wanted to incorporate it into an outfit that’s chic, comfortable and casual. Since Memorial Day is usually spent barbecuing at the lake or hanging out with family, I thought that a neutral maxi paired with detailed accessories would be a fun juxtaposition that appears put-together, but not overstated.

I recently was given a wonderful perspective on how to nurture relationships in my life, and thus wanted to share it with you all. To be with someone, you both need to think of yourselves as two trees growing next to each other. Both trees need equal space so they can both grow in each other’s company. They need equal space because one can be overshadowed and wither away if it’s too close to the other. I was so inspired by this idiom that I wanted to whip up a design to encompass this idea. Thus, here is my little creation. Enjoy!

Chanel Resort 2015

Chanel has been a classic fashion empire for over a century and never ceases to amaze editors with their classic yet imaginary collections season after season. Thanks to Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s couture and ready-to-wear fashion never falls short of innovation, elegance and unsurpassed quality, and the Chanel Resort 2015 collection is no exception. Held in Dubai, this fashion show embodies worldly inspiration with sequins, gilding, earth tones and metallic fabric. The time-honored glamour and style of the middle east is beautifully interpreted by Karl Lagerfeld in these beautifully unique looks. So without further adieu, here are my five favorite looks from the Chanel Resort 2015 collection.

Easy as Pie

One of my all-time favorite recipes is an easy and delicious apple pie. I find it funny how some people are so intimidated by making apple pie from scratch, when it takes just as long to drive to the store and buy one! I love apple pie because it’s total comfort food that I could never get tired of. So naturally, my unparalleled apple pie recipe is from the Betty Crocker cookbook. If you don’t have the book, this recipe is the same from the Betty Crocker website. Bon Apetit!
